The only negative thing I can say about Fiona Apple's new album -- The Idler Wheel Is Wiser than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More than Ropes Will Ever Do -- is that it took six years for her to release it!

Every single song I've heard off her fourth studio album is epic in scope and deeply resonant in message.

Last night, Fiona performed two tracks off the album (it's out now!) and, despite some dodgy past performances, the best way for her to promote any new work is simply to sing it live because nothing compares to her unfiltered voice, bouncing off the rafters.
