Tonight, Perry's accompanying music video to Wide Awake (the girl power follow-up to March's Part of Me) hit the web. In it, the newly single singer addresses her recent heartbreak, albeit cryptically.
Jumping straight into the filming of Katy's iconic summer hit, California Gurls (a music video released while she was engaged to her then fiancé, Russell Brand), Perry slips into a fairytale world in a moment of rest backstage. After eating a poisoned fruit, her adolescent self, Katheryn, comes to the rescue and the two combine forces to escape the so-called fairytale wrought with monsters and lastly, a deceitful prince charming.
