Nicki Minaj Takes Over Times Square
Nicki Minaj has spent the last two years taking over the music scene and Friday night she took over Times Square in Manhattan as part of Nokia's Lumia 900 launch.
"This is every little girl's dream come true," Nicki said. "I never imagined I would be doing a show in the middle of Times Square."
The usually over-the-top raptress toned down her look for the performance -- three songs (Starships, Right by My Side, Super Bass) off her new album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded -- and repeatedly marveled at just how many mouths in the crowd were singing the lyrics right back at her.
And Nicki is hoping they love the new CD as much as she does. "It's like a billion times better than my first album. I'm more confident. i just went for it. I didn't change stuff, I didn't go crazy and redo my verses a million times. I just said, this is who I am now, take it or leave it."
