Diddy to Launch REVOLT Cable Network
February 21, 2012
Sean "Diddy" Combs announced Tuesday he'll launch a music and news network on Comcast that will serve as a launching pad for new musical talent.
The REVOLT network -- set to hit the airwaves next year -- is to include music videos, live performances, news and interviews.
In a YouTube video announcing his plans, the rap mogul said he plans to give the channel over to music artists. "It's your channel to do what you want to do, how you want to do it." He added that his idea is for musicians to "show your art the way you want to show your art -- uncut, raw, uncensored -- not destined by the charts and who's pop."
REVOLT is one of four minority-owned networks Comcast plans to launch over the next two years. The other channels include ASPIRE -- spearheaded by NBA great and businessman Magic Johnson -- as well as two majority American-Hispanic-owned networks.
