According to People.com, Katie will start work on Molly -- a new movie that charts the journey of a single mother and her daughter -- in the coming weeks. The actress will not only star in the film that she co-wrote, but she's also co-producing the project.

This is the first film that lists Katie as a co-writer, while she previously helped produce The Romantics, a little-seen 2010 indie that co-starred Anna Paquin and Josh Duhamel as the other corners in a waspy love triangle.
