The animated film silenced the skeptics, taking in $66.7 million. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter only made a quarter of those earnings, reeling in $16.5 million for its debut, which put the movie in third place behind Madagascar 3.

The third installation of the Madagascar franchise made $20.2 million in its third week, bringing the new total to $157.5 million and counting.
