Rewind: 'Spartacus,' the Timeless Story
By ROBERT PACE

Here's a pop culture rewind for all those who think that 'Spartacus' is only a television series.
We take you back to this day in 1991 -- thirty years after the original Spartacus film was produced -- to a reunion of the cast and crew for a restoration of the film.
Check out this flashback, which features the immortal Kirk Douglas who played "Spartacus" (turned 95 this past December); Tony Curtis, who doesn't wait a second to mention that he made "about 100, 105 movies in [his] lifetime" (he didn't lie); and a guest appearance from comedian Don Rickles, who shows up fashionably late but didn't forget his wisecracks.
"I think it's a timeless story," star Joanna Barnes professed. "It's a story of personal freedom, and it's an epic movie."
Timeless, indeed.
