Brad Pitt's Oscar Alternative
Brad Pitt appeared on The Daily Show last night to promote his two Oscar-nominated films -- Moneyball and The Tree of Life -- in addition to his all-around awesomeness.
After talking about Moneyball's production secrets and Tree of Life's confounding plot, talk turned to the Oscars and Jon Stewart wondered why the Academy Awards campaigning never gets dirty -- a la the political sphere he normally covers. That's when Brad posited a positively brilliant idea.
"You know what I think they should do? I think we should just put a trophy on the table and, like one of those car contests, we should just all put our hands on it and see who can hold it the longest," he said. "And the last man standing takes the trophy! Hands on the Oscar!"
That is actually a great idea and would undoubtedly be way more interesting than the ceremony itself.
And since he brought it up, here's who I believe would emerge victorious (ie: who wants it the most) given this new format:
Best Actor:Jean Dujardin
Best Actress: Glenn Close
Best Supporting Actor: Nick Nolte
Best Supporting Actress: Melissa McCarthy
