Mikey Glazer's VMA Celeb Sightings
August 29, 2011
Celeb Insider Mikey Glazer was behind the velvet ropes and inside every hot VMA event this weekend -- from the pre-parties to the after party, he's got all your music-related celeb scoop!
Within an hour of winning Best New Artist, Tyler the Creator is in with the A-list as he found a new hideout under Will Ferrell, as Paul Rudd and one-time VMA host Jack Black hung with Tyler’s rap collective (OFWGTA) backstage on Sunday.
While a few others fizzled, the hot party after the show was the House of Hype at the SLS hotel. After ditching that weird yellow cube on her head (and Russell Brand!), the Video of the Year winner got a special shout out from Jamie Foxx on the mic at the Nissan Versa sponsored event. Britney Spears, her boyfriend Jason Trawick, Emma Roberts and Mark Salling kept it going late on a Sunday.
AJ McLean and fiancé Rochelle Karidis aren’t married yet, but AJ was wearing a silver band on his ring finger. He told me he’s wearing it as a trial ring. After touring with NKOTB this summer, he wouldn’t rule out a joint album with the other boyband. "Who knows, maybe we’ll bring Kevin (Richardson) back. Make it five-and-five. The show’s a little over two hours now, we could add an extra hour, I think the fans would stay," he told me.
Joe Jonas went to BMI’s Salute to Drake on Friday night, but was left salute-less. Despite winning an award at BMI’s pre-MTV VMA award show around the corner on Hollywood Boulevard, Drake didn’t make it to his own after party at Café Entourage. (Jonas would take the stage himself and play MTVu’s Lifebeat benefit the next night at the House of Blues on Sunset).
Former Pussycat Doll Jessica Sutta made her first of many party appearances this weekend with Bones’ Tiffany Hines and singer Kimberly Cole at Friday's party. Party goers hunted for goodie bags, which had the Xbox game Gears of War 3, which isn’t even released until next month.
Swimming in dating waters beyond the Bachelor Pad, Jake Pavelka and girlfriend Sarah Carroll also hit Friday night’s Heineken bash. The recently divorced Christina Milian immediately mixed it up with Busta Rhymes after his posse came through the door around 12:30 a.m. Frequent reality TV dance judge Laurieann Gibson was already waiting inside.
Meanwhile across town in West Hollywood, 48 hours before becoming Lady Guy-Guy on Sunday night, Gaga and Ciroc hosted a dinner party inside The Beverly (usually a club). Madonna’s chef came in special for the night. Mary J. Blige and Gaga spent a lot of the night huddled together after Gaga stomped her way in on stilts. Nicole Scherzinger and rapper Nas also took seats at the elite dinner party.
