Amy Winehouse's High Fashion Tribute:
Gaultier Pays Homage to Amy
Say what you will about the troubled singer, but the late Amy Winehouse is still a major influencer of pop culture -- most recently for high fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier, who paid homage to the singer's signature retro style in his spring 2012 couture show at Paris Fashion Week.
Gaultier's models, including 17-year-old American supermodel Lindsay Wixson, walked the runway to an a capella band's versions of her hit songs Rehab and Back to Black, where Amy's aesthetic was obviously referenced in the sky-high beehives, black beauty marks and winged-out eyeliner.
"Amy Winehouse was truly a fashion icon," Gaultier said after the show.
And just from looking at the amazing runway looks clearly reminiscent of her, anyone would have to agree.
